Returning Residents

The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Uzbekistan accepts documents from those applying for a Returning Resident (SB) visa by appointment only.  Be prepared to provide your passport information when you contact the Consular Section to schedule your appointment.  
 
If, after reviewing the submitted documents, the Consular Officer determines that the individual meets the qualifications to apply for the SB visa, the applicant’s information will be sent to USCIS for verification of his/her LPR status. Once the Consular Section receives confirmation from USCIS, the applicant will be scheduled for the SB visa interview.

Required Documents

  1. Form DS-117, completed in English
  2. Passport: original and one photocopy
  3. Documents mentioned in DS-117
  4. $ 400 fee for determining returning resident’s status

Important! Any supporting documents that are in a language other than English must be accompanied by a complete English translation.  The translator must include a sealed or stamped statement that the translation is accurate and that s/he is competent to translate.
