Independence Day Greeting from the U.S. Ambassador to the People of Uzbekistan (08/27/2009)
On behalf of the American people, the Embassy of the United States expresses our congratulations to the people of Uzbekistan as you celebrate 18 years as an independent nation. We also would like to add special congratulations to the citizens of Tashkent as you commemorate your 2200 year anniversary.
Over the years, we have been proud to work with the people of Uzbekistan in the fields of education, science, civil society, agriculture, trade and many other areas. We look forward in the coming year to continuing and strengthening these relationships as both of our nations work to build a future filled with promise. We take this occasion to wish you peace, health, prosperity and happiness in the years to come.
